Spider-Man: Edge of Time

Spider-Man: Edge of Time tells an enjoyably time-hopping tale, but playing the game as two heroes doesn’t generate the empowering feel as it should. Swinging through the air, hunting evildoers, using web to subdue and restrain criminals; all these could have been more enjoying, but the game fails to capture the real flair.

The game revolves around Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider man and Miguel O’Hara, Spider man of the year 2099. Even though their personalities may contrast, game play looks the pretty same. Even though there are unlockables in the course of the game, power doesn’t grow proportionately, which sometimes becomes frustrating.

It never requires much skill, so defeating your enemies doesn’t remain rewarding. It also doesn’t look great. Spider-Man should look stylish as he’s putting the hurt on the bad guys, but Edge of Time goes overboard with the flashy effects.

Despite the simplicity of its combat, Edge of Time stays interesting as a result of its storytelling. The snappy story writing and solid voice acting liven up the story including the picture in picture storytelling which generates some interest. Also, it is fun to use some powers like,web slinging, firing web shots, speedy actions.

However the game is very restrictive. The game doesn’t take full advantage of defining powers. There are narrow corridors where most of the time is spent thus lacking the freedom of movement. It’s like being forced within the boundaries.

The locations in which the game takes place are mostly dull industrial hallways and metallic chambers, with little visual variety. Other frustrations include poorly designed battle which makes it kind of boring. The battles are generally meant to liven up the enthusiasm, but after fighting a few bosses, it’s rather frustrating. The combat is too simple and movements too limited to make it interesting.

NBA 2k12

NBA 2k12 retains its crown as the best basketball franchise by offering a number of worthwhile improvement across the board. Teammates, opponents, and coaches are lifted straight from their eras, and the expertly designed presentation ensures that everything looks just as it should.

The presentation is incredible, no matter what era game is on. The sights and sounds mirror the real thing with meticulous detail. The commentary in the game is very well documented with such air of confidence rarely seen in a video game.

Small animations that you wouldn’t expect further cement just how amazing this game looks. When you slam into a player who is attempting a shot, you may reach out to grab his wrist after the whistle blows, to prevent him from falling. It’s stunning how many details are hidden in NBA 2K12. However, there are some odd moments when the facade fades away.

Some animations, such as when you throw a pass on a fast break, look strangely robotic. The presentation is mostly top notch, making this game almost as much fun to watch as it is to play.

Another big improvement has been made to the My Player mode, which has been overhauled to make it much more accessible than in previous years. Although progression is quicker, it’s just as rewarding as before because your goal is ultimately to get your bust displayed in the Hall of Fame. You just get to skip to the fun parts much earlier. Plus, an interview process has been incorporated that helps to develop a stronger connection to your character.

Looking on the downside, there are occasional cheap AI and some out of place animations. Even though it isn’t exactly different from last year’s version, enough additions have been made to make it exciting. Adding to it is the life like animation which brings it even closer to the real thing.

Though this model has such a good performance, there are some limitations to it. The games that are said to be exclusive are not more in number.The online gaming experience is not so good. At least it is far better when it comes to Xbox. And lastly, a USB port is expected in such a high designed console.

But still, If you look at the overall performance, PS3 has enough to satisfy you. Not only does it give you a huge amount of extra space, it also allows you to play all the games found in the previous models. So if you can wait for more and better games to come, then it is a better choice to stick with PS3.

Game review- Mass effect 3

Not only youngsters but even many adults are now having fun out of these games and games like Mass effect 3 are fulfilling their appetite completely.

But what’s so special about this game? Published by Electronic Arts and developed by BioWare for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PS 3 this Mass effect series Science fiction action RPG
third-person shooter genre game is going to be the final game in the planned Mass Effect trilogy. Announced officially on December 11, 2010 this game will be released on March 6, 2012 to complete the story of Commander Shepard.

Mass Effect 3 will begin with Commander Shepard on Earth for trial as a result of events from the Mass Effect 2 DLC pack Arrival during which Earth is attacked by Reapers. Faced with difficulty, Shepard is forced to flee the planet, to gather support from alien civilizations and mount a counter-attack while also having to deal with Cerberus, who has decided to turn against him/her.

In the Mass effect 3’s designing, BioWare used fan feedback. According to lead game play designer Christina Norman this game’ll include richer RPG features, more complicated enemies and more combat choices. Project Director Casey Hudson and lead writer Mac Walters think, Mass Effect 3 will have an awesome sense of exploration, intense combat, a deep and non-linear story, rich customization of armor, weapons and appearances. Some core combat mechanics have been changed and new things have been introduced in this version, difficulty will be increased, 10-15% increase in combat speed, enemies now perform specific functions on the battlefield and coordinate with other enemies.

Changes in weapon’s functioning have been made in this game, all classes can wield any type of weapon, players now will be able to modify their weapons with different parts, new grenades have a different appearance and mechanics, this game allows the ability to evolve powers multiple times, vehicle-based exploration will be closer than previous, where it didn’t form part of the critical path. Mass Effect 3 for the Xbox 360 will include optional Kinect functionality that will allow the player to choose dialogue options by reading the paraphrase aloud and give tactical orders to the squad. In the audio genre this game’s music will be composed by Clint Mansell.

Game review -Batman Arkham city

Based on DC Comic’s Batman, Batman Arkham city is the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum. Developed by Rocksteady Studios, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment it is a game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Microsoft Windows. Officially announced during the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards this game will release in North America on October 18, 2011.

Arkham City, like its predecessor, is an open world action video game that integrates elements of stealth and predator maneuver. All the gadgets of the first game are present at the start of this game except Ultra Batclaw but they have improved or have new capabilities. Four additional gadgets have been revealed in this game. The game incorporates more puzzle elements; like Batman’s “Detective Mode”, which highlights elements such as enemy skeletons and clues on-screen, is used to perform forensic actions like tracing the origin of a sniper round.

Paul dini and all writers set the events of the game in motion when Two-Face, seeking to gain reputation among the inmates and other villains outside the city, makes a plan to publicly execute Catwoman. Batman decides that he must stop the execution by entering Arkham City for the safety of Gotham and of his past relationship with Catwoman.

According to Batman Arkham City’s director Sefton Hill, the main aim of the game is to deliver ‘Batman in Gotham’ feeling. Arkham City has a five times larger virtual footprint than Arkham Asylum and the navigational aspects are now better. To create challenge for the Batman player Rocksteady admitted more villains. Hugo Strange was selected as a primary antagonist; Catwoman also has her own issue to the incidents in Arkham city. Though first it was said to be published in multiplayer mode but at the end the developers decided to keep it in single player mode. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Arkham City include a stereoscopic 3D mode for 3D HDTVs and for 2D HDTVs via Inficolor 3D glasses. This game uses TriOviz for Games Technology, integrated with Unreal Engine 3. All Arkham City game play and cinematic have S3D support. This game got M from ACB, T from ESRB, and 16+ from USK and it’ll be a huge success according to the whole team.

Winter Olympics

In the year 1924 first celebration of the Winter Olympics was held in Chamonix, France. This sporting event occur every 4 years. In this genre the original sports at the beginning were alpine and cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping and speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey. From 1924 to 1936 these games were held every 4 years until they were interrupted by World War II and resumed in 1948 and celebrated in the same year of Summer Olympic Games. In 1992 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to place both games on separate 4 years cycles.

Winter Olympic Games evolved from their beginning. Some sports have been added in this game and some of them are permanently added in the Olympic program. The Winter Olympics have been hosted on three continents, The United States has hosted the Games four times; France has been the host three times; Austria, Canada, Italy, Japan, Norway and Switzerland have hosted the Games twice. In 2014 Russia’s Sochi will be the first Russian city to host this event and South Korea’s Pyeongchang has been selected by IOC to host this event in 2018.

The Winter Olympic Sports have 3 categories 1) ice sports, (2) alpine, skiing and snowboarding events, and 3) Nordic events. In ice sports we have Bobsled,Luge,Skeleton,Ice Hockey,Figure Skating (including Ice Dancing),Skating, Short, Curling. Second category consists of games like Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing (Aerials, Moguls and Ski Cross),Snowboarding (Parallel Giant Slalom, Half pipe and Snowboard Cross) and Nordic events have games like, Biathlon (cross-country skiing and target shooting),Cross-Country Skiing,Ski,Jumping,Nordic Combined (ski jumping and cross country skiing). At the beginning Winter Olympics had 15 sports but in 2010 Winter Olympics 86 individual events took place.

Originally organized by General Viktor Gustaf Balck Nordic games was the first international multi-sport event for winter sports held in Sweden in 1901 until 1926. World War II interrupted the Winter Olympics celebration from Japan the game moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen but German invasion of Poland forced cancelation of 1940 games. But now Winter Olympic Games is one of the biggest sporting events in this planet and many people around the world enjoy watching it.
